The founder

One operator. Two decades on both sides.

BeyondBorderGroup is founded and led by Cyril Drouin. The group exists because he has spent twenty-five years building brands on both sides of the China and West bridge, and watched the same companies hit the same walls in both directions. Every agency in the ecosystem is the codification of something he had to build for a client at least once.

Why the group exists

Two kinds of rooms over two decades.

The thesis is not theoretical. It comes from sitting in two kinds of rooms over two decades.

The first kind: a Western CMO in Paris, asking why the China launch is not converting after six months and a translated website.

The second kind: a Chinese factory owner in Shenzhen, asking why the leads from Berlin are not coming after the Geneva trade show.

Same question. Mirrored sides. Different infrastructure. And in both cases, the gap was never language. It was brand, channels, web, content, and who picks up the phone.

He built BeyondBorderGroup to run the full chain on both sides, with specialist teams who actually live inside the destination market.

Why this matters for clients

An operator who still runs the practice.

Most agency founders are either operators or salespeople. Cyril is an operator who still runs the practice. He sits in the strategy sessions for the agencies in the group. He wrote the playbooks the teams now execute. When a client asks "has this been done before?", the answer is usually "yes. We did it for Apple. Or Estée Lauder. Or Heineken. Or a Chinese brand most people have not heard of yet."

That continuity is the point. The group is not six independent vendors that share a logo. It is six specialist teams that share a thesis, a leadership group, and an operating standard. Set by someone who has built brands across the China and West border, in both directions, for twenty-five years.
